Hinge foam designs are easily manufactured by “kiss cutting” this stratocell foam during the die cutting operation. What remains is a strong 3.5 mil film, or 1/8″ high density foam skin.
This type of design allows cushions to be shipped flat, greatly reducing
shipping costs and storage space. And, because the cushions are
produced in one step, labor costs are also reduced – gluing and heat
