Crates or wooden boxes are usually a more robust solution for the protection of equipment that is at a higher risk of damage due to a blow during transportation or handling in storage. These can be combined with foam heel pallets to provide cushioning for equipment that contains components that could be affected by equipment vibration. They can also have foam or wood inserts to keep the equipment in position, depending on the characteristics of the equipment such as weight, G-value (the force of gravity that the equipment has as a breaking point) and its protection requirements either to vibration, shocks or scratches.
